For casual, low-stakes dating texts

AI iMessage Replies for Dating Texts on Mac

Keep a casual conversation moving when you are busy, without turning personal decisions or serious relationship moments over to an automatic reply.

For one-to-one iMessage chats. Group conversations are skipped.

Use auto-reply for small moments, not the relationship

A dating text can arrive during class, work, a workout, or another conversation. Some messages only need a quick acknowledgment. GhostReply can generate a reply using the tone and rhythm in that iMessage thread, then send it while the app is running on your Mac.

The useful lane is narrow: light scheduling, casual check-ins, simple updates, and ordinary banter with someone who already expects to hear from you. GhostReply should not decide how you feel, negotiate consent, handle conflict, end a relationship, or respond to emotional distress. Those moments deserve your attention and your own words.

Three low-stakes dating text examples

These replies are examples, not guaranteed output. GhostReply can misunderstand tone or context, so watch the trial with a trusted person before using automatic sending unattended.

Incoming: Running about 15 minutes late, sorry

Possible reply: no rush, text me when youre close

Incoming: Are we still on for coffee tomorrow?

Possible reply: yep still works for me, looking forward to it

Incoming: That movie was way better than you said

Possible reply: okay fine you were right this time

Pick one person before trying everyone

One-person mode is the sensible starting point for dating texts. Select one contact, choose a style and response speed, and keep the Terminal window visible while you test. If you send a manual reply after GhostReply has answered, the one-person session stops so you can take over.

GhostReply also offers an all-contacts mode for incoming one-to-one chats, but that is a much wider boundary. A manual message in that mode pauses the contact for 30 minutes while other eligible chats can continue. Group chats are always skipped. For more control details, read the guide to auto-replying to one person.

Requirements and setup on Mac

  1. Use a Mac with Messages signed in to iMessage, plus Terminal and an internet connection.
  2. Install GhostReply, then grant the terminal app Full Disk Access so it can read local Messages history.
  3. Grant Messages Automation permission so the terminal app can send. Contacts access helps show names.
  4. Choose one person or all eligible one-to-one chats, then select a style and delay. No AI provider key is required.

GhostReply stores message history access, its learned profile, configuration, and statistics locally on the Mac. For profile and reply generation, selected conversation samples and relevant context are processed through GhostReply's Cloudflare backend and are not stored in its D1 records. License validation, trial accounting, and analytics data can reach GhostReply services.

The Mac must stay awake, online, and running GhostReply for replies to send. Closing the app stops the session. The complete walkthrough is in how to auto-reply to iMessage on Mac.

Keep the person, consent, and context in control

Do not use GhostReply to manufacture intimacy, pressure someone, impersonate a different identity, or maintain a deceptive persona. If AI assistance would change what the other person expects, disclose it. Never let an auto-reply handle consent, exclusivity, conflict, a breakup, health, money, travel safety, harassment, or an urgent request for help.

GhostReply uses heuristic urgent and sensitive checks. Those checks can miss coded language, sarcasm, typos, or relationship-specific meaning. They do not guarantee safety or correct replies. Read the full AI iMessage auto-reply safety guide, and stop the app as soon as the conversation becomes meaningful or high stakes.
